I’ve long recommended the OXX Classic if you’re looking for a good quality Digital Radio.  Last week on the Webcast I had a caller in Dubbo who was looking for a WiFi radio and I recommended the OXX as one of two to check out.

Given it’s been a while since I last wrote about the OXX – I thought I’d do a video for you.

As an owner of the Oxx Classic I’d like to support what Trevor has said in his video review. Overall it is a great radio. As a user I would like to add a few minor things that aren’t perfect. The first is the number of presets, just four. For a radio that allows access to such a huge number of stations both on DAB+ & Internet Radio, four presets is nowhere near enough. Secondly, for anyone planning to use the Internet Radio, I’d recommend that before you part with your cash & buy this radio that you check the online portal that Trevor spoke about to see if any Internet stations that you know that you want to listen to.can be received by this radio, as it doesn’t receive all streaming methods (AAC+ for example). So best to check before you buy to avoid disappointment. Would also like to add that the good folk at Silicon Frontier provide prompt replies to e-mails & will try to help as much as the possibly can. A feature that Trevor overlooked that I find very useful is the time & date display, you will always have the current time & date as is automatically set for you, even after having the power supply disconnected. I agree with Trevor about the sound quality & ease of use make this a pleasure to own.
