Official Blackberry Twitter App – Pre-release preview

February 14, 2010 Blackberry, For Subscribers comments

I’ve spent the weekend testing a pre-release Beta version of Blackberry’s official Twitter application which is due to launch publically in the next month or so.

First impressions are excellent, this is a well integrated application which doesn’t show delays in loading, and has some very neat pop up integration within your messages list.

I’ve taken far too many screen shots to make this easy to explain, however hopefully they will give you some clear idea of what the application can, and importantly cannot do. … Continue Reading

The Boldest Blackberry Yet – 9700

November 30, 2009 Blackberry comments

I won’t deny it, I’ve been sitting by my email for weeks waiting for word that a Blackberry Bold 9700 Review device would be coming my way, knowing full well it was the next step for me – being a Blackberry Bold user 24/7.

I’d already sampled the delights of the 9700 over lunch when Research in Motion (RIM) launched the device a few weeks back – but it was a quick look, and I did have one early concern – the Touch Pad – was it going to work?

The Bold 9700 is the second Smartphone from Blackberry to feature this new navigation method. … Continue Reading

I ‘tweeted’ these through an account called @Blackberry140 – Hoping to help people make the most of their blackberry – I’ve listed them for you below. … Continue Reading

Vodafone pre-paid Mobile Broadband Starter Pack

October 2, 2009 Broadband, Mobile, Netbooks comments

The Mobile broadband market really is shaping up.  It’s interesting really, becuase Unwired was a real gimmick when it started, but has now been left way behind by the advanced technologies of the Telcos and the speeds they can deliver.

Vodafone yesterday sent around a release for a new product they feel is the best value mobile broadband on the market – and at face value, I have to agree.

For $99, you get the mini USB Modem and 1Gig of data allowance (assuming you activate before the end of this year). … Continue Reading

Blackberry Device Launch: Friday

September 29, 2009 Blackberry, Mobile, News comments

The good folk at Blackberry have an announcement pending on Friday at their North Sydney HQ – Celebrity Blackberry user Will.I.Am will be the special guest to launch the device.

No word yet on which device it is. Given the Tour has been out for some time in the US and the BOLD2 is not yet out in the US it is an interesting one.  The Tour isn’t really anything to write home about – but perhaps they will shock us with the Bold 2 (9700).

The 9700 is the big device on the near future roadmap for Blackberry.  3G just like the Bold, however in a smaller form factor, with a better camera, and the new ‘touchpad’ navigation which will replace the ‘trackball’ common to Blackberry’s today.

Fingers crossed it is this big news – but it could also be the less exciting, but still interesting Tour.
